Bow Ties Are Cool.

I'm doing 26 awesome things in 2012.

Thing #14: Go to the Met.
I’ve been pretty amiss at updating on my 26 Awesome Things progress, but never fear. I accomplished things! Last weekend, I went up to New York for a taping of the Martha Stewart Show (fabulous; Martha is amazing and I want to get drinks with her, seriously), and after the taping I crossed Thing #14 off my list.
I’ve been to the Met before - with my parents, in (middle?) school. I’m kind of hardcore about my art museum visits. I don’t like to leave until I can’t feel my feet and my eyes can’t focus. I did a good job with this one! I managed to hit the 19th century and modern galleries, and bleary-stumbled my way through Ancient Egypt before I left. I also had afternoon tea, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I wound up walking all the way from 81st Street down to the bus stop at Madison Square Garden because I apparently hate my feet, but that had the lovely fringe benefit of window-shopping my way through Bergdorf’s and finding a Smythson (!) storefront just off of 5th Avenue. Be still, my stationery-loving heart.
I’ve managed to do a couple of other things on the List of Awesome, but those updates are for another day.
